January is time for weeding in the beds marked with red flags and soil reconditioning by adding compost or fertilizer where needed. Fresh woodchips are added to some of our pathways to help manage weeds and prevent erosion.

2025/26 Winter Work Parties
The garden continues during the off season so we schedule winter work parties to help us get our beds ready for the 2026 season. If you want picking privileges in the main garden during the off-season, you must work two winter work parties. Note: Picking in the hoop house is not allowed. We meet from 10am-1pm and don't usually take a break. If the work party will be rained out, we will send an email by 9 am that morning.
